The two hour late night performance brought together not only John Oates and Jim James, but also legends like Zigaboo Modeliste from The Meters, Larry Graham from Sly & the Family Stone, The Preservation Hall Jazz Band, percussionist Cyro Baptista, and Carl Broemel from My Morning Jacket. But that was just the main band.The list of guest stars performing at the Rock and Soul Dance Party Superjam were even more impressive. Brittany Howard from Alabama Shakes joined the band for almost half the set. Billy Idol stopped by to rock the house on T Rex’s “Bang a Gong (Get It On)”. And even R. Kelly dropped by for a pair of vocal performances.
